West Ham star Lucas Paqueta and the transfer-linked Douglas Luiz reacted to a message from Newcastle midfielder Bruno Guimaraes.
The Magpies’ captain once again asserted himself as one of the best players in the Premier League as he helped guide the North Eastern team to qualification for the Champions League.
Whilst his numbers dropped slightly last season, the five goals and eight assists the midfielder registered for Eddie Howe‘s side were crucial to not only earning a place in Europe’s most esteemed club competition, but also Newcastle claiming their first piece of major silverware in 70 years.
Guimaraes has been linked with a move to Arsenal, but given the special connection the Brazilian enjoys with the Magpies’ fans and the important role he holds within the team, it would be a surprise to see him leave.
Since joining from the financially struggling French side Lyon, the 27-year-old has gone on to make 154 appearances for Newcastle, scoring 22 times.

Newcastle should rival Leeds for Douglas Luiz
Football Insider Verdict
Mick Brown told Football Insider that Leeds are interested in signing Luiz after just one year away from the Premier League.
The former Villa man endured a miserable first season in Turin, starting just three Serie A games for Juventus.
Luiz failed to convince either Thiago Motta or Igor Tudor that he was the man to marshal the Old Lady’s midfield, and is expected to leave this summer.
A move to Leeds will be attractive, given the Whites are ready to splash some cash following their return to the Premier League and will be able to offer regular first-team minutes.
However, Newcastle should also throw their hat into the mix for Luiz. Following Joelinton’s injury at the back end of last season, the Magpies fell apart and were very fortunate to scrape their way to a top-five finish.
The Brazilian is versatile in midfield, capable of filling any of the three midfield roles that Howe uses, and would offer cover that does not exist currently at an affordable cost.
